Ellen Jovin

Ellen Jovin’s website, "Words & Worlds of New York," is a unique resource for people seeking to enrich their travel experiences by learning something of the local language before they arrive in a new country. Over the past four years, she has serially studied 17 different languages on her own, creating along the way a site with hundreds of language-learning product reviews and a blog documenting her studies, struggles, and strategies. Ellen is also a co-founder of a communication skills training company, Syntaxis. She has a B.A. from Harvard in German studies and an M.A. in comparative literature from UCLA.
