Rene A. Fesler-Giacalone

Rene is the Executive Director and driving force behind the Honeysuckle Foundation for Children with Cancer. The Foundation, a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit, was the brainchild of Rene’s daughter Alicia, during her successful battle against pediatric cancer in 2002.

As a pediatric cancer advocate, Rene works to educate, raise awareness and provide resources for psychosocial support of children battling cancer and their families. Quality of life being just as important as the quantity of a child’s days is the mission behind the cause. Rene, a graduate of Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, is the author of Alicia’s Updates A Mother’s Memoir of Pediatric Cancer and recently signed with Gentosha publishing bringing her book to Japan.

Rene has been a guest on the Jordan Rich Radio Show, the Get Inspired project as well as a Long Island Press Fortune 52 honoree and a Cabot Cheese Community Celebrity.
