Stephany’s Fashionation With Remineralizing!

Continuing my journey toward achieving health and wellness in style, I’m enjoying the Remineralize Your Body program I mentioned in my last blog.

My friend and nutritionist, Karen Panish (http://www.karenpanish.com), introduced me to this online course, developed by Joanna Steven, with support from her colleague Emily Nature.

I love sharing experiences with 90 other members from all over the world. We bug Joanna with questions every day. There’s an eBook, a recipe book, and audio interviews with experts like David Wolfe, Donna Gates, Natalia KW, and Courtney Clay.

So far we’ve learned about remineralizing with leafy greens, probiotics, kefirs, kombucha, fermented veggies, kimchi, beet kvass, sea vegetables and algaes. Upon Joanna’s recommendation, I bought Donna Gates’ book, The Body Ecology Diet, a diet very similar to what Joanna created, where deficiencies are pretty easy to avoid.

I’ve been enlightened by this entire process, so I asked Joanna everything I thought other health seekers would want to know.

Joanna Steven is a nutrition coach and author who focuses on real, whole foods diets, using ancient wisdom from cultures who thrived without pharmaceuticals, multi-vitamins, or scientific studies.

She impacts the lives of clients from a variety of lifestyles to help them reach their wellness goals. As the author of Well Rounded – The Ultimate Guide to a Healthy Raw Food Pregnancy, The Milky Way – The Ultimate Guide to Breastfeeding on a Raw Food Diet, and Smooth! Bubble Teas and Irresistible Drinks for the Smoothie Connoisseur, Joanna created the Remineralize Your Body program, to teach the world how to remineralize to reach vibrant health through juicing, blending, fermenting/culturing, and proper preparation of grains/beans.*

I wish I had taken this course years ago!

Having been a raw foodist for a year before I conceived my son, I wasn’t eating animal products or cooked food, and my taste for them had disappeared. I even experienced the natural (and legal!) high that so many raw foodists rave about.

I glowed with amazing health. But…as soon as I got pregnant I started craving meat and starch! I didn’t know how to address it with nutrition, so I just let myself eat them, and my health has gone downhill ever since. My interview with Joanna will cover a series of the next few blogs. Part One…

Why did you develop the Remineralize Your Body program, and what was the process like?

As I was working with individual clients, I realized that their health concerns were often similar, and the advice given was often the same. Restore your gut ecology, avoid foods that are aggressive to your system, restore mineral balance, etc. I decided to bring this information to everyone in a more cost-effective, fun way — through Remineralize Your Body. I can now offer more affordable coaching to a wide number of people at once, and I can do it within a fun, friendly community, which helps everyone stay motivated.

The developmental process was a combination of gathering scientific data and compiling ancient secrets scattered everywhere into a tight, precise program that is also fun to follow and easy to understand. It has been really fun and rewarding, and the feedback has been great!

What is remineralizing, and what are the symptoms of someone who should remineralize?

Remineralizing is restoring mineral balance. When we are deficient in minerals and critical nutrients, things start to break down. We become tired, our teeth develop cavities, we don’t sleep well, our skin becomes dull or starts breaking out, we can get dizzy from lack of iron, depressed from lack of magnesium, omega 3 fatty acids, and more. Life, when we are not nourished, isn’t fun at all.

What are the easiest and fastest ways to remineralize the body?

The easiest and fastest way is to eat deeply nourishing foods that also taste good. It’s as simple as that. The human body is resilient, and by default, wants to be healthy. It can do just that when provided with the right tools. Vitamin/mineral supplements etc. will help in the short term, but deficiencies happened for a reason. We need to address the underlying issues first.
