Some Tips On How To Get Through A Disaster

I sometimes wonder what I would do if a man-made or natural disaster would strike.

Here are some suggestions on how I would try to stay calm and focused during a disaster.

The first thing I would do is take several deep breaths and try to keep myself calm, if possible.

I would pray, think of some positive statements and try not to dwell on the negative during the first few minutes of a disaster. I would try to focus on what I needed to do to survive.

I would then try to figure a way out of the situation.

In addition, I would try to make sure that my friends, family, the people around me were safe. The most important thing is to save as many lives as possible including myself and my friends. A person’s life can’t be replaced.

If possible I would seek help from others to get their assistance. If help was not available I would try to use my common sense to get by and I would continue to pray. Prayer is a great way to remain calm during a disaster and it’s important to ask for God’s Help when the circumstances are beyond your control.

I would try not to let my worries get the best of me.

Remember that no one can predict the future with one hundred percent certainty. Even if the thing that you feared does happen, there are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your advantage.

Most importantly, do not assume anything. Focus on the reality of the situation and do not let your worries and fears get the best of you. Do not assume anything.

When dealing with a disaster, learn to take it one thing at a time.

Get all of the facts of the current situation and use them to your advantage. The more control you have over your current fears and anxieties, the better off you will be in getting through a disaster.

Remember that effective communication with others is very important during a disaster. Develop some practice trials to make sure that you can communicate with one another before a disaster strikes; do not wait until something happens. Effective communication can help reduce many anxieties and stresses during a disaster.

When disaster strikes, it is not easy to stay calm and focused. All you can do is the best that you can, and that is all you can ask.
