With Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries, we are under patterns that call for revolutionary change and individual reinvention.
There is no mistaking this era as one of drastic transformation on many levels. Globally, it’s seen as disruption of many governments, and in some as the urge to revolt or overthrow.
And on the world stage, we are also seeing forces that are pressuring us and pushing us towards challenge and change, such as those related to the environment, diseases, and climate.
But what does this mean to each individual? How should we cope while living through an era that is demanding personal adaptation to strange and testing forces churning in the background and perhaps affecting our daily lives?
Many people are finding that their status quo just isn’t able to be maintained; they need change, they are seeking purpose, they may find they are forced to shift their routines, and in some cases even find a new career path.
Pluto is always representative of rebirth and rejuvenation but only after a period of in-depth probing of matters that are hidden or beneath the surface that when brought to the light can be uncomfortable, to say the least. And its long transit through the business sign of Capricorn might be affecting you in terms of seeking your true role in the world – that which you can do to earn a livelihood or simply to feel fulfilled as a contributing and practical member of society.
In fact Pluto in Capricorn is transforming capitalism, directing it away from old structures and motives and towards what could be called Conscious Capitalism where your work, while profitable, also helps others or helps society – in other words, a win-win situation. And we see this force at work underground, upheaving structures such as governments and corporations as well as individuals.
Equal to this pressure to transform oneself and the world is the similarly compelling power that seeks to liberate that which has become too set or limiting, and bring in newness, sometimes quite disruptively.
This is, of course, Uranus in Aries square to Pluto in Capricorn. Here we also have change, sometimes drastically, not so much deeply psychologically transformative as Pluto, but more electric, sudden, and unexpected in nature, working through a pattern of pioneering freshness.
The world sees this not only in revolts and rebellions but also as technological breakthroughs and exciting innovations. For individuals, the challenge here is to get out of set ways and free one’s spirit – trying new things, unconventional approaches, being less concerned with others’ opinions and more invested in discovering your personal truth.
This latter is a warrior combination, far less concerned with business and capitalism, much more concerned with instigating the liberation and restructuring of people and society.
Some people will be able to navigate this tumultuous passage with relative calmness in their lives and little in the way of turbulence, but many of us may find that we are questioning our career path, seeking to leave negative relationships, setting off on paths of self-discovery, and even rejecting stability in favor of exploration or experimentation.
We are all going through a shift, the other side of which brings a new world. Hopefully, for the better.
