Be As Proud As A Peacock

When my son earned his PhD from The University of Florida in Biomedical Engineering, you can imagine how proud I was.

But it was his pride in having accomplished this amazing goal that made it so wonderful and special.

After all, knowing you have succeeded in completing a monumental task and are now being acknowledged for your efforts – that is something to be proud of.

We baby boomers have also felt the pride in accomplishing major things, yet the feeling dissipates after a while and we go back to feeling and being ordinary.

Let’s think about this for a moment.

Remember when you graduated college and got your first real great paying job?

Remember when you became a licensed teacher, social worker, real estate broker, MD, physical therapist, etc? Remember all the honors and awards you have collected over the years for giving so much to your company, community or even your family? Let’s not take any of this for granted and let’s certainly give credit where credit is due.

I want to remind you about how terrific you truly are and that you still have plenty of time to accomplish awesome things over your lifetime. It’s not over, until you make it over. Therefore, get out there and rejuvenate the pride you have for all you have done and will continue to do.

Feel those special feelings associated with serving your fellow man and contributing to the betterment of society.

When I receive emails from current or past clients thanking me for redirecting them or bringing them greater awareness, those feelings are priceless. You, too, have touched thousands of people and have made major differences in people’s lives that you may not be aware of. I personally want to recognize each and every one of you for your expertise, commitment, dedication and special talents, which you all possess.

I feel good about doing my part in changing the world and I want to continue staying vibrant and healthy for a long while.  There’s nothing wrong with feeling proud of all you do and accepting all the accolades that comes with it. So, stand tall with your heads held high and show the world that you too have made significant differences and have reached amazing goals. Of course, be as proud as a peacock for being who you are!
