Dressing for Success: Frame Your Mind

Dress for success.

Have you met someone who looks the part, but after a while you notice body language that suggests insecurity of some type, or when this person speaks what is being said is not equating with outward persona? How does your opinion of this person change? Have you every met someone the opposite who looks the part, acts the part, speaks the part and their energy makes the part emit success.  Do you feel like you want to be around this person? Do you listen more intently to what this person has to say?

Loving yourself, and feeling good about who you are has a definite impact on your frame of mind.

To properly frame your mind it is important to be still (body, mind & soul) to honor the space around you fitting yourself calmly in that place by controlling yourself within. This is not as easy as it sounds; it takes a lot of practice. In today’s fast paced and stressful world with all its pressures (too many to discuss here), keeping ourselves focused is literally a day to day task; and sometimes minute by minute.  We all feel the pressures no matter our ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status or our health; life is stressful. Thus it is imperative for success to keep focused on loving who you are, feeling comfortable in your own skin, and keeping a positive frame of mind. When you think negatively, you attract negativity. When you are positive you attract positive actions. (Remember the book The Secret?)

Dress for success from within.

As I have mentioned before dressing for success starts from within. I have identified a 3 step process to help you build the whole package. Notice I said build. I have used it as an action verb, thus it means it takes a conscious effort to build the total package of success. It takes hard work, a clear focus, and time; it will not happen over night. There are a number of programs you can buy that help people work on a positive mind. I encourage to research which one is best for you.

Although I feel good about myself and where I am in life, I am always working on keeping that success and moving forward. Have you ever heard you can never stay still; you or either moving backwards or forwards. I choose FORWARD; thus I continue working on loving my self, being comfortable in my own skin, and creating a positive frame of mind.

I’d love to hear from you.

As I end this three part series, I would like to hear from you. There is a comment box below to ask questions, provide strategies that have worked for you, or to just talk; your anonymity is honored. I am not Dear Abby, but I am a coach and mentor to help those develop the total success package.

Remember your comments or input can be very helpful to others. I look forward to reading your comments.
